1. What is vegetarianism?

Vegetarianism is a broad concept that refers to not consuming products related to animal slaughter, divided into many different forms depending on religious viewpoints:

– Vegetarian according to Mahayana Buddhism: do not eat animal products and some vegetables with the aroma of onions and garlic.

– Egg vegetarian (called ovo in Latin): can eat eggs but not dairy products

– Lacto-vegetarian (called lacto in Latin): can eat dairy products but cannot eat eggs.

Vegetarian with both eggs and milk (called ovo-lacto in Latin): can eat some animal or dairy products such as eggs, milk and honey

– Macrobiotics: mainly eat whole grains and beans or follow Ohsawa’s macrobiotic method.

– Completely vegetarian (vegan): abstains from all animal meat and animal products, including milk, honey, eggs, and excludes any products tested on animals animals, or using costumes derived from animals (such as leather shoes, leather jackets, fur coats, feathers).


2. What are the benefits of being vegetarian?

– Gives you a healthy heart.

3. Being vegetarian will lack nutrients, right?

4. How to fully supplement vitamins and minerals when fasting?

If you are vegetarian and planning to have children or are pregnant, you need to ensure 4 principles

– Clean food: vegetables and fruits of known origin, avoiding toxic chemicals

– Diverse meals: change vegetables, fruits, nuts, mushrooms, etc.

– Prepare properly: minimize phytate in zinc-rich vegan foods by using yeast (leavened bread, sprouted grains – bean sprouts)

– Supplements containing vitamins according to doctor’s instructions.
